Slow. Challenging. Hard soil.
That's how the work is progressing for Chris and Sasha, who are disciple makers among the Bosnian people.
When Chris and his family moved to Bosnia 15 years ago, there were 700 known Christians.
"The population is decreasing quite a bit," Chris said. "People are moving out of Bosnia to find employment. The situation there is pretty bad. Currently, the last time they did a demographic study, there were about 400 known believers. So, we're going the wrong way."
Islam is the largest religion. The country comprises three prominent people groups:
- Serbian Orthodox
- Croatian Catholic
- Bosniak Muslim
Sasha calls it a "spiritually hard soil." He helped test Share the Story when the team translated it into Bosnian. He works as a digital responder, engaging with people who respond to the team's ads online.
In the latest episode of the podcast, Chris and Sasha discuss some of the challenges they've faced ministering to the Bosnian people and how social media is helping them find spiritually open people.
