PALM: Discipling believers in the Arab world
MOTION is creating videos to accompany a discipleship curriculum developed by PALM (Preparing Arab-world Leaders for Ministry). PALM, a ministry of Pioneers, is discipling new believers to spiritual maturity – and from there even into leadership positions. The organization is also equipping those who are already leaders in the church.
The ministry has been ministering in North Africa and the Middle East for more than 40 years. Thousands of believers have gone through PALM’s material, which is called Progressing Together.
The course curriculum consists of three programs:
- Level one for new believers.
- Level one orality for those who are primarily oral learners.
- And level two, which is for church leaders and those who are training to become church leaders.
- Topics include Christian ethics, spiritual warfare, and forgiveness and reconciliation.
The PALM team recently received feedback that they should make the content more engaging, including videos. That’s where MOTION comes in.
We are creating videos to introduce each of the curriculum’s 11 sections. These animated videos will depict stories of real people and their journey to faith.
Eric, director of PALM, said more people are accessing material like Progressing Together on their smartphones and computers. And this isn’t just the younger generation. People across age groups in the Arab world (and really around the globe) are accessing videos regularly.
We’ve seen it too. Our ministry exists because more than 80% of people who are unreached by the gospel live in countries that claim YouTube as their No. 1 or No. 2 most-visited website.
“We’re just so very thankful to be part of this partnership and to have TWR MOTION ministering to us in the way,” Eric said. “We believe that the course videos will make our material more engaging and ultimately lead to making disciples.”
